Solid Surface Countertops

Solid surface countertops are as beautiful as they are economical! Available in dozens of colors and finishes, solid surface countertops are one of the easiest ways to bring new life to your kitchen (or bathrooms!) without breaking the bank.

Once you’ve decided on a color, here are four great accessories to consider to help your countertops shine!

  1. Your Sink
Whether in a bathroom or a kitchen, choosing the right sink for your countertops is a big decision. The first step is determining the shape you’d like; does a divided wash station fit better with your aesthetic than a deep-set stainless steel sink? Stainless steel is an increasingly popular choice for people installing new countertops because they’re relatively inexpensive, easy to clean, and stand up to wear and tear better than natural materials. Also, many stainless steel sinks today have no rims or seams, making them even more aesthetically pleasing!
  2. Your Countertop Edge
Did you know that solid surface countertops are available with more than 10 distinct edge finishes? From sleek squared-off designs to intricate, decorative finishes, the edge you choose for your countertop can impact the entire look of the room. Double Round Over edges are modern and casual. Roman Ogee edges lean more traditional and stately. Bullnose countertop edges are a great choice if you’re worried about kids bumping their heads, and you can never go wrong with a classic Bevel. Decorative countertop edge finishes also work well to make your solid surface countertops appear more like expensive granite or quartz, too.
  3. Your Faucet
Whether in a kitchen or bathroom, your faucet sets the design “tone” of the sink! Particularly if your kitchen sink is set in an island, an attached faucet can have a bit impact on the entire room’s appearance. Deciding which finish to go with – bronze, pewter, silver, etc. – is a choice you’ll want to carry throughout the room. From there you’ll select whether you’d like an attached faucet/handle combination and even additional matching accessories such as a detachable sprayer, built-in hand soap dispenser, and garbage disposal button.
  4. Your Under-Cabinet Lighting
Under-cabinet lighting can have a huge impact on your room! Particularly in corner kitchens, under-cabinet lights can really add warmth and brightness to the room. Consider your countertops when choosing your lights; LED lights tend to be “cooler” in color than traditional bulbs. Cooler lights will play off of cool countertop colors like blue, gray, and white best while warmer light will enhance the nuances of more traditional beige, brown, or gold undertones.
